What is Vera Nova Therapy

Vera Nova Therapy is a space for renewal—a place to slow down, to breathe, and to reconnect with what has been strained, silenced, or set aside. Therapy here unfolds within a relationship grounded in presence, emotional safety, and care. Each session is guided by careful listening and attunement to your lived experience, creating space for understanding, movement, and meaningful change.

At the heart of this work is the belief that healing emerges through emotional experience. My approach is grounded in evidence-based practice, with Emotionally-Focused Therapy (EFT) as its foundation. EFT is an attachment-based model that helps individuals and couples recognize the emotional patterns shaping their inner lives and relationships—and gently transform those that contribute to distress or disconnection. This work is supported by integrative approaches, including Internal Family Systems, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Gottman-informed practices, existential and meaning-centered perspectives, mindfulness, and somatic therapy, allowing the process to remain responsive, flexible, and deeply personal.

Vera Nova—new spring—speaks to the possibility of renewal even after long seasons of loss, strain, or disconnection. Therapy becomes a place to pause and listen inward, to restore what has been depleted, and to allow something new to take root—supporting deeper self-understanding, more secure relationships, and change that feels authentic and grounded.

From this foundation of care and attunement, I offer individual and couples therapy—supporting clients through seasons of transition, emotional strain, and the relational challenges that accompany life, illness, and change.

Therapy Services

Individual Therapy

Individual therapy offers a supportive space to explore emotions, increase self-understanding, and reconnect with yourself. Together, we examine emotional patterns, internal conflicts, and the ways past experiences influence responses to stress, relationships, and change. Drawing from EFT, mindfulness, IFS, and CBT-informed approaches, therapy supports emotional awareness, self-compassion, and flexibility—helping you move forward with greater clarity and steadiness.

Couples Therapy

Couples therapy focuses on understanding the emotional patterns that create distance, misunderstanding, or conflict. Using EFT as the primary framework, we work to identify relational cycles, access underlying emotions, and foster new experiences of safety, responsiveness, and connection. Gottman-informed strategies and mindfulness practices support clearer communication, healthier conflict navigation, and a more secure relational bond.

Therapy for Cancer & Chronic Illness

Living with cancer or chronic illness can profoundly affect emotional well-being, identity, and relationships. Therapy provides a compassionate space to process fear, grief, uncertainty, and the relational impact of illness. This work emphasizes emotional attunement, meaning-making, mindfulness, and somatic grounding—supporting resilience and steadiness alongside ongoing medical care.

Therapy for Physicians and Healthcare Providers

Physicians and healthcare professionals often carry sustained responsibility, emotional fatigue, and pressure to remain composed under ongoing stress. Therapy offers a confidential and supportive space to slow down, process emotional load, and reconnect with internal experience. Drawing from EFT, CBT, mindfulness, and existential perspectives, this work supports emotional regulation, burnout prevention, and a more sustainable relationship with work and self.

Couples Therapy for Medical Families

Medical families and partnerships often face unique relational stressors, including long hours, emotional distance, and role strain. Couples therapy supports partners in understanding how these pressures shape emotional patterns and communication. With an attachment-focused approach, therapy fosters greater understanding, resilience, and emotional closeness within the relationship.

The quality of our relationships determines the quality of our lives.
