Fees & Payment Information

Transparency, Fees, and Practice Policies

Sliding Scale Fees

A limited number of sliding-scale openings may be available based on financial need and current availability. Sliding-scale options are not guaranteed and are reviewed on a case-by-case basis. Please inquire during your initial consultation for additional information.

Telehealth Services

All therapy services are currently provided via secure telehealth platforms in accordance with California law and professional standards. Telehealth services are subject to the same fees and payment policies outlined on this page.

Services are provided to clients located in California. Location and emergency disclosures related to telehealth services are reviewed during intake and are available elsewhere on this website.

Cancellations & Late Changes

If you need to reschedule or cancel an appointment, please provide at least 48 hours’ notice. Appointments cancelled or changed with less than 48 hours’ notice, as well as missed appointments, may be charged the full session fee, except where prohibited by law or in the case of documented emergencies.

Good Faith Estimate

Self-pay or uninsured clients may request a Good Faith Estimate of anticipated therapy fees, as required by federal law. A Good Faith Estimate provides a written summary of expected charges based on the services discussed and does not guarantee the total cost of care. Because session fees are clearly listed on this website, Good Faith Estimates typically reflect the published rates and anticipated frequency of sessions.

Transparency Statement

Vera Nova Therapy is committed to transparency, clarity, and informed consent regarding fees, payment practices, and financial policies. The information below is provided so that clients may make informed decisions about care prior to beginning therapy. Fees, payment expectations, and related policies are reviewed during the initial consultation and intake process, and clients are encouraged to ask questions at any time.

Session Fees

Vera Nova Therapy is a private-pay practice specializing in evidence-based, attachment-focused therapy for individuals and couples. Fees reflect advanced clinical training, extensive experience with Emotionally-Focused Therapy (EFT) and Gottman-informed approaches, and the depth of care provided in each session.

Fees are based on a standard 50-minute session and are as follows:

Individual Therapy

  • Initial 50-minute assessment: $300

  • Ongoing 50-minute sessions: $275

Couples Therapy

  • Initial 50-minute assessment: $400

  • Ongoing 50-minute sessions: $375

Session fees are reviewed prior to the start of therapy to ensure clarity and mutual understanding. Longer sessions may be available by request and are billed proportionally.

Payment Policies

Payment is due at the time of service. A valid credit card is required to be kept on file and is processed securely using a HIPAA-conscious payment platform in accordance with applicable privacy and security standards.

Clients are responsible for full payment of fees regardless of insurance reimbursement or claim outcome.

In the event of a declined or returned payment, clients may be asked to update payment information prior to scheduling additional sessions.

Additional details regarding payment timing, administrative matters, late cancellations, or missed appointments are reviewed as part of the informed consent process prior to beginning therapy.

Insurance & Superbills

Vera Nova Therapy is an out-of-network practice and does not bill insurance directly.

Superbills may be provided upon request for clients who wish to seek potential reimbursement from their insurance provider. Reimbursement is determined solely by your insurance plan, and Vera Nova Therapy cannot guarantee coverage or reimbursement.

Clients are encouraged to contact their insurance provider directly to inquire about:

  • Out-of-network mental health benefits

  • Deductibles and reimbursement rates

  • Preauthorization requirements

  • Telehealth coverage
